Who is Jake Albert?

Jake Albert is a play on words - often when people are introduced to 'Jay Calvert', they hear 'Jake Albert', so we chose the moniker for our company.

Nonetheless, the misnomer was a perfect choice for the spice company. Jay has a passion for food, cooking and more importantly eating. In a constant quest to find and eat the perfect food, Jay developed Fuego Rojo, a perfect blend of sweet pomegranate and the fiery heat of the mighty habanero chile pepper.

Welcome to Jake Albert's Specialty Foods

Please let me introduce myself, my name is Jay Calvert, owner of Jake Albert’s Specialty Foods. We specialize in gourmet food products with a kick. As I like to put it, Jake Albert’s is a 'Where Fire meets Flair' establishment.

All of our products are geared to be spicy, but not over the top hot. It is a fine balance between some spice and a lot of flavour.

While we have several products in the different stages of development, I am pleased to announce our premier product, Jake Albert’s Fuego Rojo. This is unlike anything you have ever experienced before. It is a very unique product in a very new category called 'Sweet Heat' and we have mastered it.

Fuego Rojo is a carefully balanced blend of the sweetness of the Pomegranate followed by the spicy, almost smoky, pungent flavour of the Habanero. All of our products are made with pure ingredients; no artificial flavours, no additives, no HFCS, no nonsense. In Fuego Rojo, we use Cold Press Pomegranate, Low temperature extraction Pomegranate Concentrate, Fair Trade Certified Organic Cane Sugar, 100% Canadian Honey, Fresh Orange Habanero Peppers and Spring Water.

The great part about Fuego Rojo is that it is a very versatile sauce as it is both Savory and sweet at the same time and can be used as such.

Jake Albert’s Fuego Rojo can be used as a glaze for chicken, pork, salmon, as a barbeque sauce, a flavour enhancer for stir-fry and is simply amazing on chicken wings and believe it or not, ice cream. Every use is a unique experience and you are encouraged to try some of them.

I highly recommend trying a teaspoon of it on some really good vanilla ice cream. I can almost guarantee that you will be serving this awesome dessert at your next dinner party. From there, try it by brushing some on some nice grilled salmon, or a pork tenderloin just before you take it off the grill, this sauce only needs warming.

Sincerely,

Jay Calvert

p.s. Yes it is a play on my name, good catch!
