Update

After a few months’ hiatus, we are back and hotter than ever! Jake Albert’s Fuego Rojo is in more stores and we can hardly keep any in stock. We are booking shows and making appearances all over the place this year, look for us at the Hot+Spicy show in Toronto again along with a visit to the Weekend of Fire in Cincinnati, OH. Both are in August.

While the last few months have been a bit quiet we have been working in the background on new recipes and concoctions, they have been perfected and are almost ready to be made available. There is a line of spice blends called Jake Albert’s Gourmet Seasonings. These are tried and tested blends that amaze even me in how many different uses we have come up with them – oh and every one of them is amazing on Popcorn! Great for the grill, oven or whatever your cooking pleasure is, you will find a new favorite in these blends. We are aiming to have these out for summer. And one more thing all of them are low sodium to boot!

Also in the pipeline is my most favorite announcement. Jake Albert’s is proud to announce the latest in the Fuego line of sauces. In June (that is just a few weeks away) we are going to make Fuego Azul available to the public. Fuego Azul is a Blueberry Habanero glaze. It has all the same properties as Fuego Rojo and works in all the same ways, from Ribs, chicken wings, dip or on the fan favorite, ice cream!

2010 is going to be an amazing year for us and we hope you enjoy the ride. (Oh, and I promise it won’t be so long before we get the next newsletter out!)

Update: Jake Albert's is once again stocking the shelves. Deliveries today to Remark Fresh Market in London and tomorrow to Taste The Fourth Sense in St. Jacobs.

We are very pleased to announce that Jake Albert's Fuego Rojo has won Three 2010 Scovie Awards!!!

1st Place, No Meat Required, Unique
1st Place, Barbeque Sauce, Fruit-Based
2nd Place, Hot Sauce, Fruit


This is our first time entering these awards (obviously) and we couldn't be happier!

Product Demo

2009-08-25

Just had our first product demo at Remark Fresh Market here in London, Ontario. What amazing feedback! I demo'd both Saturday and Sunday but after the first hour of being there, we needed to bring in 3 more cases each day. My dreams have come true! We sampled Fuego Rojo with the London Ice Cream Company's Acadian Vanilla and the reaction was unbelievable I wish I had a camera for every pulled up face I saw when I first suggested it, then the face when they first tried it and realized I wasn't mad for serving Hot Sauce on ice cream. It was so funny. Everybody loved it!

Now, we are less than 15 days away from the Hot and Spicy Festival at the Harbourfront in Toronto and we are getting everything ready.

We will be hitting the road just before the show and visiting some local gourmet food stores to see about expanding our market, stay tuned and watch for updates. I will post lots of pictures of the show in Toronto too!

What a week!

It has been an awesome week of news this week. Received a call from the Toronto Hot and Spicy Festival, they want me to feature Fuego Rojo! The format will be that I will be interviewed in front of a large group of people, discuss my product, how I came up with the idea / recipe and what it can be used for. I will be providing samples for those in attendance. Awesome opportunity!

Also, just received a call from the London Free Press!!!!

Only 2 Weeks To Go!

Hi everybody, well, we are less than 2 weeks out before we can finally open the store on JakeAlberts.com.

You will finally be able to purchase Jake Albert's Fuego Rojo! It will come in a 250ml bottle, which is a pretty big bottle.

Everything is all bottled, we only need to slap the labels on it and get it to Jake Albert's Headquarters in London, Ontario.

I will be sending out the notification via Facebook and anybody who has signed up for our mailing list, if you haven't found us on Facebook, do a search for Jake Albert's and you will find us. If you haven't signed up for the mailing list, make sure you do, you never know what you might get if you do!

Progress Update III

Hey everybody, well your long wait is about to come to an end, we have been hard at work on the labeling requirements and are about to start the first run. We are expecting the run to start in about 2 weeks and we can't wait. We hope you can't either!

Recipe Perfection!

Hi all, We got the recipe finalized with the latest batch of samples today. It is perfect, the colour, the consistency, the sweetness, the heat and the smell! It is amazing and so exciting!

All that is left now is to get our bottles ready, labels finalized and, start the production.

I am also in discussions to get a booth this summer at the Covent Garden Outdoor Farmer's Market here in London, Ontario. I will have more information on that next week.

We have been keeping busy keeping an eye out for upcoming shows that we want to be a part of so don't be surprised if you do see us at the London Rib Fest or other places around town or North America. It is going to be an amazing summer, can't wait to enjoy it with you all.

Speaking of which, we are still planning the official launch party and once we get things in line and timelines sorted, we will be messaging all members of the Facebook Group and those who have signed up for the mailing list. If you haven't done either, make sure you sign up on the left <-

Status Update

2009-03-19

We received the first test batch of the first sauce, and it was everything we could have hoped for. Our friends at BPF did a great job molding our recipe into a viable, mass produced product. We are awaiting the second batch that is adjusting the heat levels so we can pick the absolutely best for you.

Progress Update II

2009-02-21

We now have a Business License and are eagerly awaiting the trial batch from our producer. We have also come up with our first by-product, the Heart of Fire.

A Heart of Fire is a rich dark chocolate heart that has a heart of Fiery Pomegranate Habanero glaze inside. The glaze has been reduce even further to a thick, almost jam like consistency and it works amazing in this medium. The chocolate and the pomegranate habanero are an amazing mix that will be sure to please even those who are yet convinced that they should be a chilihead.

We are in talks with a local Chocolatier to help us in the production of these, so look for them soon.

Progress Update I

2009-01-29

I am in the process of getting the products produced, packaged and labeled. We are focusing on the Pomegranate Habanero Glaze then we will introduce the Better than the Pub Chicken Wing Rubs (Original, Moroccan Coffee and Curry flavors) and two other sauces (Smokey Apricot Habanero Sauce and, Curried Mango Habanero sauce)
